I’ve used a two hook set up like this for trout and catfish. Actually caught two stocked trout at once on a rig like this cats I’ve always just got one at a time I think they are more territorial with food but idk exactly.

The believe the double is called pickerel rig, we use them on lake erie for perch ice fishing. You can buy them ar Canadian tire, and they come with 3 way swivels

We call the two good a spec rig or high-low rig. We use the in south Texas for speckled trout, flounder and other fish along the jetties and piers. Well out a couple Lightweight jig heads with a a soft plastic and bounce it along the bottom. It imitates a small School of baitfish

I’ve seen people do it fishing for baitfish like mullet I think in Florida. So more of a saltwater thing I think. Many freshwater states something like that would be against regulations. ... to many hooks on 1 line.

Sabiki Rigs for baitfish. Here in MD they're illegal.

I make droppers for flies and just use a surgeons knot with a spare length of tippet.

That looks just like a worm harness

Honestly I just tie my hooks to the line directly. This set up looks like a major cast disaster. If your on a boat or dock or something maybe but even then I would never lol because I don’t want to deal with the hassle
