Welcome to the Forum, did your wife give you that name, or is it wishful thinking?

Big Rod, most unusual user name there, but still original. Welcome to the forum and we all will look forward to learning something from Arizona. And since you have been following the forum for awhile the humor in many eyes helps us through the rainy days and those being skunked days. Fish On Friend.

Hi, Big Rod ! I'm a fellow Arizonan and live here in the Valley (Mesa); if you're ever strapped for a fishing partner, text me here on the Forum and maybe we can talk about hooking up for a day on the water ! I'm a retired senior and have plenty of time to go out, but have had little opportunity !
Get back to me if you're interested !

Hey Alphonse Normand sounds good to me, for the next two weekends I'll be fishing in the White mountains however when I get back let's plan something.

Yo ! Rod ! Get back to me when you get home; just text me via the Forum and we can either text or call from there ! Hope you're having some good luck up there; you're already lucky to be fishing (I presume?) in such a beautiful area ! Have you been to Silver Creek at all ? From some of the fishing photos I've seen on the Game and Fish site and Google Images, it looks to be a truly premier fishing spot and is number one on my bucket list ! We can get into this when you're back home; just contact me and we can continue this conversation into the wee hours, if necessary ! At the very least, we can decide where and when we could hit the water for a day ! Are you a fly-fisherman, or do you prefer spin-fishing/bait-casting ? Trout ? Bass ?
Whatever's biting ? Let me know !

Sounds great to me and I haven't tried fly fishing at all but would love the experience.

Sorry, but if you're looking for a fly-fishing partner, you're on your own ! You're more than welcome to try your luck, but I swore off even trying it ever again after a bad experience back in '79 ! Have been a confirmed spin-fisherman ever since ! I have, however, used a bubble-and-fly set-up with some small degree of success for trout and smallmouths, using wooly-buggers and muddler minnows ! May try it again when/if I ever get to Silver Creek, or maybe at Blue Ridge Reservoir or Ashurst Lake, which both have some pretty decent trout !
