Pick up All the discarded fishing line I can find, it’s just good karma.

When I used to smoke I was convinced that I would not hook up unless I had one lit up. I could go through some Camels. I do some bank fishing with two rods and I won't cast out the second rod til I catch one on the first. And like you I always clean up the area where I'm fishing before I leave. Might never catch another one if you leave a mess. For sure you don't deserve to.

Don't step over rods while fishing, your or someone else's it's bad luck...thats one I've always heard.

I can`t count the cracked or broken guides from folks stepping right on rods! Try to get every one to put rods on one side? Sure as fire, someone`s gotta go up that side and kicks a guide out?

Right there with you on that 1st cast. Trying to get around that by changing baits later on and 1st cast hoping not to catch until 2nd cast. 1st cast jinx is what its called in these parts.
