The koolaid kinda cures it if you let it sit overnight

When my second grandson was 4, he's in the army now, my brother took him home with him for a weekend. When he got home he told his Mama and Nanny, "Don't ever let me go stay with him again. he took me to a sea food restaurant, and it was real good, but he ordered me a kid's plate!!" He could eat as much or more fish than any grown man I've ever known. He has always been a skinny little fellow.
Bluegills. I usually use 3 to 5 inch ones live. Bigger than that I cut them in half (or even thirds if they're real big) and use for cut bait.
Skip all the store bought junk. It will catch some small ones but if you want catfish of any size use cut bait like bluegill for channels and live bluegill for flatheads. Give them what they normally eat.
I filet every thing using electric knife from salt water fish to bream. Just start at gill plate cut down , turn knife got to tail the flip filet piece to end continue separating skin from filet cut out belly bones and yumm yumm bring the fry pan. lol
Welcome IF.
They are a great invention.

In some staes they are illegal
Ks. and Mo. If I am not mistaken.
After my cut up weinnies have marinated in minced garlic for a couple months I put them in the microwave for a couple minutes. Getting hot really toughens the pieces up. I've tried adding red or cherry kool aid. I find that it is a wasted step. All that garlic smell draws the fish not the red color. Vienna sausage is way too soft. Cut up spam works pretty fair on channel cat but not for blue's or flatheads. Everybody has a secret catfish bait. If it works go catch a good mess.

I use what they call a bottom Walker for my bait holder. It's a great rig. Then I use worms to catch some small Brim or bluegill cut into small pieces or large and use this bait works great
I've never been able to bite into a fried catfish fillet (the ONLY way to properly prepare catfish) & tell what bait was used to catch it. That means it's all good. Some bait or ways may be better than others but if your way puts fish in the grease, keep it up.

An insulin syringe will pump them up and float them
Chicken hearts work and won’t cast off.
