Depends on target fish! Big bad snook and occasional grouper need HD set up! That said we use medium 7' fast taper rod with at least 12# test line for speckled trout and medium sized fish! Always carry both setups.

Let me know, gonna try to catch some this winter and have to down size! See many folks spider rigging with old cane poles. Gotta go check out micro light rods? Just one more fishing rod I need, wait till I tell the wife?

Shooting docks can be very expensive.
I did it once, on a gusty day. Caught a fish right off the bat.
Then a misjudged cast put the lure into the upholstery of a nice pontoon.

It was just out of reach from my boat, just inches, but I didn't want to tear his nice cushions. So I made the stretch. Fell in, lost my brand new hearing aids. $,$$$.$$. And cell phone $$$.$$.
That one fish cost me dearly.

Moral of the story, do it on calm days, or be very, very accurate.

You are a funny crap(pie) shooting, hard of hearing, celless comedian. My wife said I needed some hearing aides, now I can let her read your book boo and that will stop that foolishness. Thanks my friend
