Interested in Discussing different methods for catching Crappie.
Lots of people Bobber fish in the spring for Crappie.
Just wondering if anyone spider Rigs or long lines for them.

When fishing with minnows I hook them through the eyes flip it out give it a few seconds and slowly reel it back in, no weight or bobber and watch my line for a twitch.
Kinda the same as a jig.
Too many watch the pole by then it is often too late, they don't like it they spit it out.
Good tip!!

I always use an eagle claw 214EL hook and hook the minnow thru the lips.
Found they stay alive longer and real important the light hook doesn’t impair the minnows ability to swim freely.
When I was Crappie fishing as a kid we hooked them through the back, they tend to swim in a circle, one week long vacation using bobbers and fishing off a short dock we caught our limit every day
I use a bobber and a worm in NH, I use the bobber to keep the worm just off the bottom, if I snag, i adjust the distance between the bobber and hook. there are spots that have vegetation bottoms. if its windy the waves move the worm. I've caught up to a dozen in an afternoon/early evening. People call the crappies, i've noticed also called pumpinseed, I call them Kibbies......lol
