Georgia Fishing

Well they took me to school today.
I got comfortable fishing in 20 to 28 feet deep and found huge schools in that depth but they would constantly bump my jigs over and over but seemed lethargic.
Well I knew something was wrong so I decided to scope in deeper water.
I found a tree near the dam in 33 feet deep with a small school hugging tight to the tree so I decided to try them and man they were very aggressive and started destroying my jigs.
Well then I realized that I was fishing the wrong water temperature in the beginning because all fish prefer the right water temperature for everything that they do.
I won’t forget that lesson.
Thee old thermo-cline is the key to success or bust.

Vertical jigging? See that the tree branch in your second photo was the attractant, I love to use a Swedish Pimple tipped with a small fat head or a piece of worm in those situations.

Next time I will post my fish, it was hot outside and I only had 1 hour left to figure it out.
I wasn't thinking about taking pictures of fish at the time plus they weren't slabs only 10"ers.

Good lesson to learn. I fish mostly walleye and they orient themselves to the thermocline as well. Most fish do. Find the thermocline and you’ll often find the hungry fish.

Tight lines

J, that’s one fish I never sought after but if I’m up north, I’m going to try after them.

When I was in Hawaii for my Honeymoon we went on a charter boat. Trolled out then bottom fished. A guy on the boat tried to lip a puffer. It bit the end of his finger off. No bone damage but all the meat!

I’m watching you 👀 I hope to have bought me a trailer for my pontoon boat right after this upcoming knee operation. I’ll plan to ( hopefully ) meet you at Westpoint one day.
