My family has a trip planned to Lake Osakis the last week of June. Would like for my grandson to tie into some walleye and northern pike. Being from Kansas he has never seen these. Got any suggestions on where to find and how to catch? We will be staying on the north end of the lake
You shouldn't have any problem catching either or both of those on Lake Osakis. Walleye, especially, are well-stocked almost every year, including COVID years.....They have a very strong Lake Association that makes sure this is done. There's something like 6 resorts on the lake you can check with. Also the General Store in Osakis would be a good place to check as well. Good luck!
Thank you for the confirmation on the fishing. We have a cabin reserved at The Head of The Lake Resort so getting anxious to get there. Started out in the Alexandria area on Lake Victoria in the 70s and had great success on crappie. Have been all over Minnesota and Ontario, Canada and one of best memories is the Alexandria area. With my current health issues I want to create some memories with grandson. If things go well this year we'll try Lake of the Woods south of Kenora next year.
Sounds good! You should have no problem getting Walleyes on Osakis! Lake of the Woods always comes through!!!
