Yet another windy day

Headed over to one of the local waters for a few hours this afternoon, really wanted to throw some weightless plastics specifically for bass but the wind forbade it. Tough to even keep in contact swimming a 1/8 oz paddle tail. Caught 12 or 13 rockets, 4 cookie cutter bass around 13” and 3 crappies all around 11-12”. All the mallard hens had little ones in tow but no goslings for the geese. Nice, bright and sunny for a change but that darn wind I could do without.

Thanks Steve, regardless of the wind it was still a fine time. What’s nice about these local waters is their proximity to home, all are within five to ten minutes so even on marginal weather days I’ll be able to fish and still get some things done around the homestead.

Love your pictorial account of your day. That clear water is amazing so don't worry about to many things around your homestead.
The wind, and now the rain have joined forces to limit our time on the water. But I choose not to complain about the rain. Fish On!!

Thanks OB, wind the next few days is really supposed to rip, sustained in the 14-15 mph with gusts to 35 and highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s with frost warnings for the rest of the week.

Yep, the Kate I was on yesterday is in turnover. Slop all over the surface, and most definitely not clear.

If I had to guess Ridley, I’d say the large one that I normally fish is about 35 acres.
