Does anyone have any information on the fishing at Thief Valley reservoir in Baker County Oregon?

Google Maps would seem to indicate that it's a seasonal reservoir.
At least the satellite photo shows it as fully drained.
However, https://www.recreation.gov/camping/gateways/3131

Yes it is a seasonal reservoir. In the fall it goes down so far that fish cannot survive in it and they take the limit off of the number of trout you can keep because they are all going to die anyway. At least that is what I have been told. Right now it is completely full and people are starting to fish it but not sure how they are doing.

The worst part about Thief is the wind. Be sure to check the wind at the reservoir before you leave home. The afternoons can be very windy making it unfishable when trying to troll

Many years ago I used to fish the creek below the dam. Always limited.

Just watch out for rattlesnakes below the dam

It is a good resivior they stock in the spring and According to f and w the fish grow 1 inch per month not uncommon to catch 20 inch fish early fall due to the fresh water shrimp they feed on. But becomes very warm and the fish get soft in late fall. Plus algea bloom makes it unfishable. I call em Arnold fish big bodies little heads

Not sure if they have stocked it yet . I went there a month and a half ago to try out my new helix 7 gen 4 didn't mark a whole lot of fish. Always a few hold overs though
