Hi Folks . I am located in Santa Nella Village about 10 minuites from the Basalt launch ramp on the main resovoir. We fish activily from late September through January . The wind lays down and the Stripers are active during this period and limits are common. My daughters live in Sac. And I joined the forum to keep up on the Salmon migration in the Discovery Park area and also the current producing techniques. I would be happy to share any info you need about San Luis and apreciate any input on the Salmon migration near the city. Fred
Hi Fred, I am new here also but have fished San Luis for the line sides in years past. My future Son-in-law has done very well on river salmon and told me a few days ago that spinners for some reason are working very well. But that it can change anytime. Reports from the sac. have not been good and the word is it may be a late run. I hope others will check in with more complete advice, it would help me also. I am now retired and have a medical run the last 6 or so years surviving everything from lung cancer to very bad car wreak. I decided to go back to all kinds of fishing even back to your lake, when there is low winds. If I hear anything I will post it. Scorchy
I know the man that holds the record for landing a 60+lb striper in a float tube
That was in San Luis Reservoir
Thanks for the info young man!! I lived near Watt ave. In Sac for 4 years in 2011 and having retired in 1998 from the high tech industry I spent many days jigging Garcia Bend and working the American river but I'm out of touch now so your info is much appreciated. Fred
