My buddy and wife are out in San Diego visiting his daughter, husband and their 2 boys. I’m taking care of his critters for a while. Found this little ring necked snake in the basement along with a few others. To give you scale, he’s in the bottom of a tapered coffee cup. Cute little guy.

Hate snakes. We have one in the house. It is my step daughters. She moved to Colorado but the snake stayed here. Yuk! While Cassie was in the hospital I had to feed it and clean it.

Sounds like momma ring neck laid her eggs in your buddy’s basement walls. He may want to have a pro out. Ever seen those houses where huge groups of snakes breed at. Gives me the Willie’s and I like snakes. Cool looking snake! Thanks for all the great posts!! I always enjoy even if I don’t respond.

Yeah mistred, they’re kinda like cats. You either like them or detest them. Wouldn’t want to have one as a pet.

Pretty cool looking snake. We used to catch ribbon snakes when we were young. The pet stores would pay us 25 cents each. They would also pay 25 cents for baby greenback turtles. We have a big rat snake that lives in the spillway behind the house. He freaks my wife out when she sees him slithering around. If I’m out in the yard and I don’t want her directing my work, I tell her I just saw him. Back in the house she goes. 🤣
