Some big Stripers out there. Some guys fishing bunker chunks, or Herring. Some are going with the blood worms and a few are trolling.
There is a good amount of activity. However, if chunking or using worms, there’s a good amount of catfish. The morning to early afternoon we grabbed 4 Stripers. Three were too big and one was in the slot. We also got half dozen catfish.
Fishing is pretty good now but will get better through the month.
If anyone has any spots or bait suggestions that would be great. If your looking I’d say south of Tappan Zee bridge, west side. North of Crotan , east side. Just south of Newburg/Beacon bridge center of river but all around there is good.

Don't have a boat but I drove over Tappan Zee 6 times last week and every time it was clear I wished I was down there! Been thinking of trying Piermont but parking is such a drag there. I think there is a pier but is there a lot?

I'm on the NJ side a little NW of Newark. IF I have the day, usually drive down the shore. Thanks tho.
If you can get access around Sandy hook. The tributaries that fall into Raritan Bay have a good amount of stripers up toward GS parkway.
So the fish are still high up in the rivers. The water is warming and the bait fish will be coming out into the bay which will make everything better!!
