Went fishing π£ this afternoon in 56 degree Carnegie Lake after the eclipse. Saw the eclipse for a few seconds while driving on the exit ramp. A guy in the parking lot showed me photos that he took. Amazing. I caught and released 8 bluegills, 4 white perch and 4 black crappies with Walmart red worms πͺ±. Landed a bluegill and white perch double. On my last cast of the day, a large brown bullhead broke my 4 lb test line, then swam away with my rig when I lifted it from the lake. Saw 8 other fishermen. The first four caught nothing, then quit early. The young fisherman for whom I netted his 23β pickerel a few days ago arrived late in the day, fished nearby, then caught and released a 16.5β 2.38 lb white crappie with a little white twister tail jig on an ultralight spinning outfit. I netted the fish π for him again and took lots of photos with his camera. I now have a new friend who is going to follow me around and fish nearby so that I can net his fish.

More great pictures NJ219bands, and everyone can use a good person to net our fish. The wind will be less today so maybe my wife and I will be able to net some fish today. At least we'll be hopping to.
Enjoy your new friend. I know that he will appreciate you being there for him.

Senile. The young guy offered to net my catfish but I thought that my 50 year old line wouldnβt break. Next time Iβll net my π. The catfish was heavier than I thought it was.

Nice pics Bands. I bet that young man had a grin on his face when he landed that crappie. I believe I would have all kinds of pics and measurements for that and had a mount made π

I think I figured out how you find fish regularly NJ, you have that blue heron pointing them out for you.

Youβre right, itβs payback for me giving it 55 fish π last year. It would never eat more than 8 fish in a day.
