My wife and I have been in Southeast Asia for the past 3 months and got back to Lake Havasu last week with some bad jet lag with 16 hour time change. So I got the kayak out and was fishing the past 3 days and skunked a few times but today got my first large mouth drifting a purple plastic worm and this guy kind of hooked himself. A good fighter and got me so wound up that I dropped my needle nose pliers overboard as I went to unhook him. Beautiful spots on him - a 2 1/2 pounder!
I was close to the launch ramp coming in to Mesquite Bay and did some casting in three feet of water and saw a big bass follow my crankbait up to the yak. A second cast got him hooked and he was a good fighter, got him up to the boat and he broke off my leader and swam away with my crankbait. But a great day and beautiful weather in the mid-70s in Western Arizona.

Welcome home Langer, and nice catching. Obviously you didn't miss a beat after your trip, but sorry about the pliers. Keep the pictures coming.

Hey Saw, we started Dec 31st in Tokyo for a week, then Bangkok and Chiang Mai in January,. Spent the month if February in Kuala Lumpur and then back to southern Thailand to several islands. Koh Samui is the best, great beaches and food. It's just an area we love and will do it again this winter. The cityscape is from our 20th floor of our condo in Kuala Lumpur - Petronas Towers in the center.
