My name is Tony and I live on the banks of the Conecuh River just outside of the metroplex of Gantt, Alabama. The part of the river in which I live is situated between two dams, so it is actually a lake, which is named Point 'A'. I catch pan fish next to the bank, every once in a while a bass or crappie, then casting out into the channel there are channel cat and blue cat, around the 5 to 8 lb range. The largest I caught was a blue cat that weighed 18 lb. I have been fishing this same spot from my yard for over 20 years so I can pretty much walk out and look at the water and tell you whether or not a fish is going to bite. My old dog is a great help as he watches the pole and starts barking when a fish is on the line. He love fried catfish and learned this on his own over the years.

Your life sounds very peaceful. You are a lucky man. Who needs bells when your dog lets you know when a fish bites. Now if you can teach him to fetch a beer you're in heaven.
