Howdy All,
Hope all the ice shacks back on blocks.
Anyone ever tied up Sabiki rigs? I was given a huge mess of hooks from a friend. There are legal circles and small bait holder styles. Know some rigs are cheap to get but I thought I'd put the question out to all.
Also getting ready to salt some clams for the shore fishing adventures as well.

I’ve tied some with orange yarn and some with white bucktail and green tinsel. Tied a bunch of dropper loops in a length of leader and put them on. Watch the ads from West Marine. They always seem to have sales. I picked up a bunch for a couple of bucks apiece.

I made some with wings made from a torn space blanket. Very flashy and worked great. Most of Puget Sound, the sibiki rod is not considered a second rod. Not so where I normally fish, but OK just south of me . Another way to get cheap wing material is to go to the dollar store and buy an inflated balloon with the silver, gold, red or most other colors you might want. I usually wrap a red yarn body topped with a wing. I do it because it is fun. From a practical point, given the time to tie and assemble, just buy premade rigs. While on this subject, if you use the rigs on a boat and jig vertically, I highly recommend the specialized sabiki rods the keep all the hooks inside and covered.
