Headed over to a little lake in Jersey in hopes for some crappies. Swimming jigs instead of what I should be doing (fishing a somewhat stationary bait). Anyway, caught several snot rockets and a jumbo perch just shy of 14”. She was spawned out, deeply hooked and had passed on her genes so I kept her for tomorrow’s lunch.

We don’t have any perch in the San Diego area as far as I know? But that is a nice looking fish. Every time I see your last name I’ve wondered if you were related to a Leroy Knecht who was a part owner of a garage door company in SD. I’ve known him for many years I think he’s retired now??

Yeah Steve, just that one perch and a few rockets. Wild windy day which made it tough to keep in contact with the jigs.

I did Fred, really like the reel but the rod isn’t all that sentisive.

Keep at it bknecht; the crappie are going to start biting sooner or later. You are catching, and that gives us who are just fishing hope that we will be catching soon also. But it's hard to in 20 to 30 mph wind.
