I'm not on an ego trip I'm nothing on my own I make mistakes, often slip Just common flesh and bones But I'll prove someday just what I say I'm of a special kind When He was on the cross I was on His mind
A look of love was on His face The thorns on His head The blood was on that scarlet robe And stained a crimson red Though His eyes were on the crowd that day He looked ahead in time 'Cause when He was on the cross I was on His mind
He knew me, yet He loved me He whose glory makes the Heaven shine So unworthy of such mercy Yet when He was on the cross I was on His mind Yet when He was on the cross I was on His mind
I'm not on an ego trip br I'm nothing on my own br... (show quote)
Y’all listen and be blessed - another great song follows…
I'm not on an ego trip I'm nothing on my own I make mistakes, often slip Just common flesh and bones But I'll prove someday just what I say I'm of a special kind When He was on the cross I was on His mind
A look of love was on His face The thorns on His head The blood was on that scarlet robe And stained a crimson red Though His eyes were on the crowd that day He looked ahead in time 'Cause when He was on the cross I was on His mind

Thank you Plumbob. I did not get back to the Stage until early Saturday morning (2:30 a m.) but reading the words of that old song brought tears of thankfulness and hope. "He knew me, yet He loved me." Thank you Jesus. 🙏
I need to make a correction to my post above. Due to my “advanced age”, 🥴 I later remembered it was NOT Bill Gaither that wrote “Who Am I”, but was actually Rusty Goodman, of The Happy Goodmans (in 1964 I believe), that wrote the song. My apologies.
