Picked up a new rod and reel at Cabela’s yesterday for the last day of their spring fishing classic sale. Traded in an old rod and reel and picked up a new outfit. Johnny Morris platinum 2000 spinning reel and a bps microlight rod. Headed out to one of the local waters and got 8 or so snot rockets swimming jigs. Crappies are apparently not yet in the chasing mode.

The reel is smooth as butter plumb, I really like it. Perfect balance with the rod.

Nice rig Brad, and good job breaking it in.

Yeah Ridley, broke it in and didn’t break it….yet. I’ve got a bit of a problem with rod transport.

Really like the reel Fred, buttery smooth. The rod is okay, not nearly as sensitive as my Fenwicks and St. Croixs but what can one expect for 49$. Also a little bummed that it’s a 2 piece without a hook keeper.
