I don’t remember the almost constant wind this late into spring. It’s been this way intermittently for the last month.
Look at the normally calm Gasparilla Sound. Ventusky reports that wind is at 41 from nnw.

From all I have heard, this winter season has been exceptionally cool & breezy in Florida. The exact opposite of that is what the Midwest had…minimal snowfall & very warm temps on average.
Conditions like that shown in your picture make it a challenge to get out on the water, and can hinder shore efforts as well.
Nothing one can do about Mother Nature.

I think I brought the Nebraska wind with me It has been much winder here than normal

Yes, and it seems to have been wetter this winter in Charlotte County. Clump Algae (Caulerpa) is still a problem on the east wall, it appears we are losing grass beds at a significant rate. The water has cleared some, and fishing has improved--if you want to fight the winds. Going out exploring on Sunday--will see what happens.
