Anyone catching Springers yet?
Not yet. Been boats out around the head of the channel but no reports. Saw a sealion in the slew recently. And where’s there’s sealions, there’s usually fish…for better or worse!
Thanks for the info. I'll probably get out easy next week, look for a report.
On the Willamette from Fred's to the Columbia (Davis Bar) this AM. A few boats were out, zero takedowns witnessed. Wingtip
Out Monday, 4/8 and fished at Fred's and at Davis bar. No bites or takedowns, didn't see any other of the few boats out there getting action either. Looks like another late run. Wingtip
Out Monday AM, 4/22. 50-60 boats on the lower Willamette downriver from St. John's Bridge. Had one take down in 4.5 hours of trolling during an out going tide. Saw no fish taken. WT
Wingtip. Thanks for the update!
Thursday AM, 4/25 - very few boats out, only a few fish seen on fish finder and saw none caught. WT
Didnt fish this week. Same reports though. Saw More boats near tail of Willamette and at the head of the chann. May/June maybe.
Out this AM (4/29) on the lower Willamette and viewed more fish on the fish finder, still no take downs. About 20 boats out, saw four hook-ups and 2-3 taken. Things are obviously improving, fish are there but not in great numbers yet. WT
Fished this AM in the lower Willamette around the mouth of Multnomah Channel. 20-30 boats and the action is picking up. Landed a bright 10-12 pounder using a prawn spinner. Catching should get better and better now. WT
