We took the boat out today mostly to test out the new trolling motor and electronics. Figured that we might was well fish while we were at it. This fish was in 150' of water. The action was slow and the lake a little rough. I am still pleased with the first trip of the season.

Way to start, always a lot of anticipation when testing new installs and catching just makes the day a great time . Good for you and may you be blessed with many more wonderful days on the water! πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΊπ²πΊπ²π
I made a dumb mistake on this trip. I was fishing at 150' and most fish were on the bottom. At one point I reeled up 25' and jigged a little, had a hit and the line went slack. Leader broke. It was a leader from last year. This trip was so early I had not gone over the tackle yet, must have been a nick in the line. Today I started going through all the rods, and there are a lot of them, and checking line, tying new leaders.
