I’m living in NC, but travel to Florida and mainly fish there. Thanks.

Grew up in Jax and still visit. Always make time to do some surf fishing, but haven’t had much luck lately. Planning a trip to the panhandle in late September/early October. Will definitely do some surffFishing there and enjoy the clear water and beautiful beaches. Any suggestions or advice welcome. Glad to be part of the group. Thanks for
saying hello.

I've never fished those areas Pedro. We have a few on the site who have and I hope they come along soon to help you out. Only place I have fished in NC is Lake Julian in Fletcher. Good cat fishing there. Good luck and would love to see some pictures of your catch when you go.

Welcome.
I lived most of my life in NC. Moved to Florida in 2019. I fish regularly and like any other location, sometimes you catch a bunch and sometimes you just enjoy being out.
I fish mainly from a my boat and go out of Anclote. I’ve got several locations marked and if one doesn’t pay off, I quickly try another.
I love a “one pole day”. That’s when the bite is so fast and good, you can only use one pole.
September is an excellent time of the year to fish.
Good Luck.

Pedro, if your in the panhandle those months then your in luck.
Plenty of fish.
Try wading or yak fishing the bay by SGI (Saint George island). Lots of redfish and spotted trout on dpa shrimp and gold spoons with tails. Remember to limit your keep. Help keep this fishery a great place to visit.
Thanks

Azmntmn,
Thanks so much for your reply. I really appreciate that help.
I will definitely try the area you recommended. Any luck surf fishing in the panhandle during those times?
Thanks again!

We did fish after work off SGI and caught shark and redfish east of the east slough pavilion on the gulf.

Chunk bait for shark and one of the other people threw a big swim bait and caught a red about 26".
