Well guys, Ben and I got out on the river a little after 0700.
Fished ALOT of our regular spots and never got a bite till bout 1100 or so. Then Ben caught a small 18 incher trollin, which we released.
We continued to fish goin back and forth between trollin and castin.
Bout 1230 or so we went back into the flat to cast and Ben hooks one bout 18 inches and we decide to release it too.
We continue to fish and we kept two 22 inchers, bout 4 and 4 1/2 pounds, a couple more shakers and another 18 1/2 incher, all released, a 21 and a 20, keepers. And we were done. It is now 230pm.
Took awhile to get things wrapped up and to Ben's house and then rush hour traffic all the way to my house.
I got home at 6 o'clock and I left Ben's house at 430.
Oh well. Was a great AFTERNOON, , foggy and kinda cold most of the morning but the sun came out and the fish started bitin in the afternoon. Total of 9 fish caught today.
Thanks Ben. I'll let you post the pics. I didn't take any, just weighed and measured.

OH ! I forgot one of the most important events today.
We were trollin back down South Slough and all the sudden we see this big bird fly over and start circling over head for a few min.
There are lots of buzzards there but as a buzzard flew over this other BIG bird we then realized it was a GOLDEN Eagle. It must have had at least an 8 foot wingspan.
It was SO COOL to see it. You could see it's head/face and it's big golden beak so plainly. REALLY beautiful.
Sorry we didn't get any pics. Wish we could have.

Congrats Saw1 on your successful day. Eagles are so awesome to watch. We often see bald eagles here and are awed every time we get the chance to watch one catch a fish.
With your traffic story, I think I would have turned around and just stayed on the river. 🥴🎣🎣

Nice Saw. A few in the bag isn't a bad thing.
Traffic sucks. Nowhere near what you have but just as crazy.

We had a few bald eagles around here but haven't seen them for a couple yrs.

Hope nobody shot them for a trophy 👍

Nice catching Steve and Ben. Sounds like you worked for them, but 9 fish is a good day. Traffic sucks everywhere, but you guys out there wrote the book. Thanks for the report buddy.

We have a family of bald eagles that nest across the field, south of our place, by a creek. I can see them flying around from my recliner, out our big bay window (10’W X 7’ H). They had babies last spring.
Really cool to watch them fly around.

Good job you guys! Glad to hear things are picking up. The Eagle story is the best, wish I could’ve seen it!

I guess that I live in a state that have a number of bald eagles nesting where I fish......a friend and I were fishing in a small lake where a pair had a nest on the west side. He had released a small rainbow trout that came belly up about 15 yards out in front of him when one of the pair came down and snatcher it up and took it to the nest...one does not see that very often.

I've had both Bald Eagles and lots of Osprey come down near the boat and either catch fish swimmin on the surface or ones we threw back that went belly up. You're right, it's SO cool.🤠👍

Was pretty cool seeing that Golden Eagle, it was soo big and such a gigantic wingspread. Here's a pic of fish.It was nice getting back on a few fish this week after having the striped rodent riding on the boat for a few weeks.
