Went out with Capt. Ben looking for some stripers. Winter fishing has been rough, with a lot of stick fish, tule fish, and seagrass fish taking almost all of our time clearing our hooks, with no fishies playing. Not so this trip....finally
Count, 4 stripers landed, 2 kept. We had three keepers in the livewell and released the 20 incher on the way back to the ramp so it can get bigger.
Great day on the river

Great report my friend. All in all, a good day. Might try the Petaluma next week. Reports of good striper fishing in the bay. Hopefully some are migrating into the rivers! I’m assuming that rattletraps were the ticket!

Nice catching Hal. I'm glad you and Ben found some that wanted to play. Those vegetation fish can be a PITA in the springtime. Thanks for the report and picture.

Looks good. Ben is great guy. Glad you hooked more than grass fish.

Rattletraps for me and spros for Ben. We would have tried some bait fishing, but I left the bait in the freezer. Didn't matter because we were able to find fishies that wanted to play

Steve, it was good to actually catch something that gave that all important tug, rather than reeling in vegitation

I know all about the non-fish hook ups. Glad you guys got in to a few! Better days ahead with weather and fish!

Weed is for smoking not cleaning off your lure.

Congrats Hal and Ben! Good to see things are “heating” up!
