Headed out today in search of some crappies but none to be found. The rockets however provided some entertainment, caught about 20 or so. I know that many detest them but with their elongated bodies and their head shakes they’re quite a bit of fun on light tackle especially when they’re the only game in town.

Again you have done more than us. It looks like it was a little chilly for you. I have been dealing with a cold so my wife wouldn't let me play in our 40 degree weather. There's always tomorrow to hope for, but we have snow predicted for next week. So keep at it, the crappies will show up soon.

It’s fun catching no matter what you catch. Better than freezing and not catching anything.

I am with you Brad, my go to spot down at Curtis Bay the last 2 years, there is a known area the snot rockets like to hang. Just so I don't get to meet the skunk, I always say high to the little snotters.

Hopefully you’ll be rid of that snow and soon get that nice Lund or there Oldboat.

Yeah, lm with you Mike. That’s all that wanted to play, still waiting on the crappies but I’ll take whatever is willing to bend the rod.

They’re usually quite cooperative most any day with a few exceptions, they often save the 🦨.

Nice rockets BK, but I liked your striper pics better. I always enjoy your pics and info no matter what you’re catching…thanks for sharing.

I hope to add a few fish pics to the stage as soon as the boat docks are back in the lake(s) around here.

Yeah DV, I know what you’re saying. I’d rather be catching stripers but I’ll take whatever’s available. Close to home and a bunch of fun on light tackle though certainly not the glamour species.

I caught and released 21 black crappies in one spot in Central Jersey with 1/32 oz twister tail jigs on 2 lb test line the past two evenings. Water temperature was 60 and 57 degrees. A bowfin escaped with my lure on Monday evening.

Well Brad, you caught something, anyway. Can you reach 8-10ft of water from shore? That is where they may be until the lake bottom warms up.

Yeah OJ, without a problem. They’re just not chewing, I’m throwing small jigs and slowly rolling them. Fatheads under a slipbobber would probably produce.

And that's the name of the game. They are fun to catch, just like gar, carp, sharks etc.

Good strategy Doug, I’ll do some meditation to reverse my craven brain.
