I’m going to try to fly fish opening weekend at Hat Creek.
Never done it before but I’m set I think. My question is what is a good fly to use And what type of knot due I tie a fly with

For a knot use either the improve clinch or Orvis knot, whichever one you find easier to tie.
For flies this time of year on the EC I’d stay with bead head nymphs, probably a pheasant tail, hares ear and an attractor like a san juan worm.
