Went fishing 🎣 in 60 degree Carnegie Lake this evening on a warm, cloudy day with a strong, cold north wind. Only saw 10 fishermen. A banded Canada goose was nearby. After losing two jigs and a hook to bottom snags, I fished with one rod. Caught and released 2 bluegills, a black crappie and a 12” largemouth bass with nightcrawlers. Saw 23 boats on the lake. Cormorants were fishing. Mallards πŸ¦†, mergansers, gulls, crows πŸ¦β€β¬›, herons, robins, doves, blackbirds and grackles were flying.

Congrats on doing better than we did. We were on the water for only 2 1/2 hours with nothing to show for it. I'm going to blame to solar calendar with it's poor fishing prediction.

Well I got to a little pond I had tried without success during the winter, and found it posted. Guess I'll never know if there really a few fish in there.

I fished with a man who had been a tail gunner in the Pacific who said that if a fish won’t take a nightcrawler it ain’t worth catchin’ Glad you are back on your game Bands.

That's the good thing about nightcrawlers, any freshwater fish will readily eat them.

We used to use them for Blowfish in Barnegate Bay when we were kids because we were afraid of getting bit by the bloodworms. Seemed to work just as well.

Great pictures and I love your simple multiple hook rigs - getting back to basics, hook and worm. I went out for the first time to a small local pond casting a small jig head and twister with new 4lb mono line. I've been using braid for years and decided to try mono again. Saw some cloudy swirling green water and a muskrat popped up his head as if to say - what are you doing here!
