Depending on how much you want to spend. Look at Ranger boats they have a great deal right now. Now is a very good time before the season hits. In my area fishing really gets in gear about the end of this month. When I had a Ranger I never had a problem with it and the service was great. Would have kept it but was being station overseas for 4 years so I sold it. I would definitely go new with a warranty to include extended warranty.

What are you going to do with the deck boat you bought?

Well, that's the question. Right now I'm just trying to find a motor that is in good shape. Maybe take the motor off the bass boat and put it on the deck boat maybe use the bass boat instead whatever works then try to sell one Still looking for just a good motor also confusing, well I'm confused too

Have you tried the local boat and motor service companies. Many people upgrade motors and trade in the old one.
Coming from a service company may have a small warranty.

Local dealers don't trade for used motors they only sell new that's why so many used motors are for sale on marketplace.

That different than here
Most service marinas here have used motors for sale. Especially in the early spring when boaters are upgrading their motors.
Good advice in this thread and I also recommend doin a compression check on all cylinders and make sure they are all pretty much equal. You can go to the motor spec’s and find the recommended psi the compression u do probably won’t reach the new psi on the spec sheet but it should be pretty close to it. Talk with a reputable service tech to find the acceptable range.

Thanks for all your advice. The reason there's so many used boats and motors for sale on marketplace is dealers here won't trade for them. I want to follow your advice but people selling don't want me to do that.
