Went fishing 🎣 in 58 degree Carnegie Lake this evening on a warm, sunny day with a light south wind. More than 25 fishermen were there. There was a late bite. Caught 4 black crappies to 10.5”, 2 bluegills to 8”, a white crappie and an eel. Cormorants were catching gizzard shad. Osprey were fishing.

I remember the first time I caught an eel. It was shortly after I moved to S. Carolina in the early 80s. We went fishing for catfish in a smaller river near home when I caught it and I remember thinking, great now I'm catching snakes instead of fish. I was 23 and had lived in the Midwest all my life before that and there was nothing like that around here.

I get them in the Shrewsbury River using bloodworms at night. Smaller ones for striper bait bigger ones are eaten in a couple of different ways. Use number 2 winter flounder hooks.

In picture #5, there seems to be a bald eagle in the top of the tree in the background. True or imaginary?

It’s Princeton University’s rowing lake in Princeton, NJ.
