I know Doug and I have teased you all with knew and exciting walleye knowledge we learned at walleye school. So I figure I’ll make a few posts to share as much of the info as I can.

The school consisted of seminars from various charter captains on different aspects of walleye fishing. As well as a very interesting talk from the a Fish biologist who explained walleye movement and amounts throughout Lake Erie. Aside from all the knowledge there was donuts, coffee, a great lunch, a shirt, door prizes and a couple 50/50 raffles.

This link is to a video of one of the actual presentations we watched.

All of this is what I got as a door prize or came with the $100 fee.

It was a great time as always! The giveaways, information, and the food give you way more than your money's worth. When attending any seminar as this, I always try to go in with an open mind. Much of the information you hear will be things you already know but the things I listen for are the little twist or trick that someone else uses. For example, there was one of the top Captains in the area that was schooled on clearing a tangled line in an offshore planer set using stern planers which hardly anybody uses.
Tidbits as I call them, it's the tidbits that I go for.

My bag of "Tidbits" !

Money well spent for sure. I did pick up on a possible method to verify depths on some of my deep trolling divers. Until now, I've just been reliant upon the charts the manufacturer supplies. There is a Captain that developed a program using the Sines Theorem to calculate the actual depth of trolling lines. I've listened to this guy for a couple years and thought it was just another "Ronco" pitch. This year he changed up his presentation a bit and things started to click a bit better. He had a phone app developed and seems like a nice way of double checking what you have in the water.
