Moved up here from california last year, Living in puyallup, Wa. looking at places that has good places to fish and camp.
Deception Pass state park is an excellent place to camp with great fishing all around especially on odd years when the pink salmon are running. Another great place if you want to come to the Eastside is Lake Roosevelt.
Boat or no boat? Saltwater fishing is fairly limited, especially with no boat. My favorite lake is Banks Lake. It has some shore access but a boat is, of course, better.

Thanks I will check them out what do you guys think of Tanwax lake and surrounding lakes
Have not fished Tanwax. I'm mostly a saltwater guy.
Rainbow resort and Camp Lakeview on Tanwax lake both have docks to fish from they charge a day use fee. Camp Lakeview has a kids fishing event in April we took the grand kids last year and they had a great time. We will be attending this year’s event to. Bradley lake is a kids only fishing like located in the south hill behind Walmart.

Just make sure you keep valuables out of your car, maybe leave the doors unlocked to avoid a broken window. Thieves are thick round those parts!
Just as an add on the to kids fishing.... Lacey Parks & Rec has a kids fish in on April 20th at Long's Pond. $5 per kid, with a chance to catch & keep 2 trout (from a netted area), lots of exhibits and they keep the fishing pole (small zebco style)
Welcome to Washington, please leave California at the California/Oregon border.
Stay south for awhile.....tons of good fishing. Mineral lake for big rainbows, American lake for Kokanee and other fish (tasty red meat) or go to Westport and charter a puker for a limit of bottom fish and lings. Good fun and a huge bag of white meat to return home and eat....super delicious.
Best

Until you and your friends catch limits plus and the boat makes you share with the pukers and you don't even get to keep the limits you caught....
Tequila two or Hula girl are a few but there are many boats to go out from. I use Deep Sea Charters and Captain Culvert from the Tequila for my trips and have rarely been disappointed. Best to not just book but to watch the weather and swell reports and call the day before and book. Mid week is best.
Delicious fish tacos and garlic, onion, olive oil sauteed is mouth watering and ridiculously good. Possibly buy some crab or spot prawns to pile on top with some gourmet crackers..... Yikes!
Fished and lived in the area for MANY years. Used to be more abundant and I won’t blame pollution. Still there is flounder, trout, cabazon, crab, shrimp etc. helps to at least have a fishing kayak but it is abundant. Maybe get a guide once or twice to open your horizons
