Got out on a local River here in Western ,MA yesterday to take my boat out for the first time this year and try my new Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 93sv Touch-Screen Fish Finder/Chartplotter Combo with Garmin Navionics+ Mapping and GT54 Transducer. The thing is great, took a little time to figure some things out on set up,but, wow,the clearveiw is amazing. Found a few fish too!

That fish finder kinda sounds like Ralphies Red Rider carbine-action, 200-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock.
I want one if it helps find smallmouth like that. Good catch.

We are a couple of more fellow fishermen happy to see the catches you have shared. You have added fuel to the fire in my desire for a Garmin or Hummingbird's closest in comparison. I'm open to any comments or preferences.

I had showed my wife the 5 inch unit before Crhristmas, then she started on the internet and decided I needed the bigger screen. Only thing I had to do was figure out how and where to mount it.

I've got the Garmin and have fished with a friend who has the Hummingbird forward looking sonar and in my humble opinion the Garmin is a far better unit, even my friend says he likes the Garmin better. I caught one a couple days ago suspended in 28 ft. of water over 32 ft. No way I'd have never known the fish was there without the unit. The only thing i'd suggest is mount it on a pole not the trolling motor. With it independent of the trolling motor you can keep the unit pointed where you want to look while the trolling motor turns in other directions.

I used the traditional stern mount on mine.

Nice fishing. Contrary to many on this board, your electronics are your friend. πŸ‘

Your proof of that with some of your own catching.
