Hello stagers,
My Father was a Union Leader in 5 states.
When negotiating a new contract he would often say
" Cut out the gobbledygook and get to the chase "!
Who coined the word gobbledygook and when was it first used 🤔
Make my daddy 👨 proud.

I knew what it meant but had to look up the origin. Just realized that I've been spelling it wrong (gobblelygook).

Hello stagers,
Here is the answer to the origin of the word Gobbledygook.
Former Texas congressman Maury Maverick, who was the Chairman of the smaller war plants committee, coined the phrase in a 1944 memo to his staff banned them from using bureaucratic language saying
" Stay off the Gobbledygook language. It only messes people up. For the Lord's sake, be short and say what you are talking about "
There you have it stagers. The origin of the word Gobbledygook.
