Welcome aboard Catfish 1961. I am a former Belhaven resident and sure miss the great fishing down there. Please tease us when you are fishing with some pics either of fish, the area or both. It keeps the urge up to get out their and enjoy the water.

Is the same Atkinson mill that milled way back when? Beautiful area. My dad took me there many years ago. Great fishing!

Not sure about a mill, we are actually closer to Currie NC/ Moore's Creek National Battlefield area. Gave it a go this weekend, great fishing, no catching. However, the birds were singing, trees blooming and an overall relaxing day on the water. Great fellowship afterwards with a spaghetti supper and smoked wings with all campers that were present. If you want to see where we are, Google Maps and search Redstar Rd, Atkinson NC.

Man it sounds like a great time. Yes I'm very invious. I haven't had a lot of time to get out the last few years but would love to get there one day. My wife would have loved it.
