Hey folks, I'm going to visit the island for a week and will be bringing my gear. Anyone have any recommendations on locations? I googled but nothing definitive. I appreciate it.

I don’t have DIY shore angler locations, I’ve only fished Palma Sola Bay from a flats boat, but you might give Anna Maria Island (AMI) Outfitters a call for some advance intel. I was in the shop briefly last year and the owners were friendly and helpful. Also the spot to pick up any fly specific gear you may accidentally forget to pack.

The beach bite is slowing down so try and get a kayak and some access to flats.
Don’t underestimate sunset ladyfish on the beach. Keep your feet dry and cast shallow into the backwash. They’re a blast on light tackle. As fun as snook.

Opinions or something

Whatever, you don't really have that opinion either, you're just trying to put a positive spin on the situation

There is a lot of trout on the flats over by emerson point, without a boat you better be ready to wade though. I have had 20+ trout days there.
On Anne Maria try inlets at both tips of the island and the two bridges. Walking the beach you can sometimes see snook, but I havent checked if they have recovered from red tide so might still be limited numbers.

Very few Snook left out there, but the N side beaches near the pass would be your best bet to hook something. Dock lights should be good this time of year, and there are Reds on the flats to the east but they can be tricky to track down. Second the suggestion to visit Anna Maria Outfitters, nice folks

Pier is being rebuilt but pilings in place and best spot NW corner of Island! The pass between Egmont Key and Anna Maria nice water flow and spanish mackerel should be chasing white bait now! Speckled trout all around grass flats too! Out going tide walk the beach front just around the corner and look for snook holding on edge of fast water waiting for dinner to flush by! Tight lines
