Took the opportunity with one nice day in-between storms to get back on Berryessa. On the water at 7 am and by 11 am, no fish, one bite. Went to a new area and it was ON! Caught 8 fish and lost 3. All spots and smallies. One spot weighed in at 4.2 lbs and had one smallie tip the scales at 3.6 lbs. Called it a day and got the smile on my face home before 4 pm. Yesterday's limit was right at 17 lbs and all fish returned to the Lake. Retirement is FISHTASTIC!

All right Steve! I see you're learning the retirement game, and doing well. I'm not sure you learned your lesson about laying the net down on the stern deck though. 🀣
Nice catching brother, and beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing with us.

Lol... thanks Fred! I'm a slow learner but those feisty smallies always remind me. That big boy was not on the deck! Lol

He's a slow learner alright. I think he even peed on the electric fence TWICE. 😫πŸ˜₯πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Thanks 40! I'm on the fence about the M&G because of the date. There is always a two week period after the spawn you can't catch a bass at Clear Lake and BAM, 50 fish days happen. With normal weather, the M&G dates are not good. Plus, the previous weekend is Memorial so we have the annual family gathering at Lake Almanor. Now that I'm retired, I may decide to stay in the mountains vs returning to the hot valley. It's going to be a last minute decision for me.

Smallies can jump like frogs in the boat. I've had them jump from the floor of my boat and tail slap me, while I was reaching for the scale.

Sounds like you broke the code and had a great day.
Congratulations. You’re gonna like retirement.
