My Abu Garcia spinner has broken. The Anti reverse switch is no longer working so I can spin my reel both ways. Is there a way to fix this or should I just cut my loss and get a new one?

Some Youtube vids that show how to fix that problem could be helpful. There are several.

Me thinks you might try and take apart, if gears are broken it’s a lost cause. Check out pawn shops and/or thrift stores for replacement.

Affordable part to fix, check schematics and order little part that wears out on line! Remember how much reel cost and do not spend crazy money to fix it! Replace it then!

The problem is that not every reel is constructed the way that the one(s) on Utube are. One or two of my Penn spinning reels have the same probem. To fix them requires disassembling main body of the reel to get to the anti-reverse cog. Not an easy fix.!
