Born and raised in Tn. Moved to Ga around 1998, retired from long distance trucking so I dont know the good fishing spots here in the Rome Ga area. Looking for some help and advice. Also I have never caught a crappie and would like to try and do some fishing for them. Any and all help and advice is appreciated. Thanks for the add to the site!

Welcome aboard Truckin. You need to try that lake to the west of you.

Lake Weiss carries the title of “crappie capital of the world” for good reason. Despite heavy fishing pressure for crappie, an excellent forage base supports the population resulting in quality fishing year after year. Slabs over 2 pounds are routinely caught from these waters.

Rocky Mountain is near you, look it up and you can find directions, it’s good for crappies if you know how to find them largemouth bass spots catfish shel crackers and bluegill
And some others there are two lakes, actually kind of three. One is only open 10 days a month the other two are always open but not at night.
