Here's the thing though, earth is now ending the last ice age. Guess what happens when an ice age ends, that's right, the temperature goes up. People may not like it but the planet will be fine.

Correct. 99% of warming and cooling is from the Sun. Too many Solar Flares and the radiant heat is pushed past the earth. Few or no Solar Flares and the radiant heat stays here.
Now the Axis tilt of the Earth also plays a part and so do Volcano eruptions. The smoke/dirt/ect from them blowing their top blocks the heat from reaching the planet. Krakatoa caused so much thrown up that they had to use lanterns in NYC during the day.
