Found a fishing šŸŽ£ rod and reel at the Heislerville Impoundments this afternoon and left it because it is left handed.

Most spinning reels can be changed from right to left hand retrieve by unscrewing the handle and putting it on the other side.
Who knows. Maybe the owner will come back for it

It looks like it was thrown into the tree. I'm one who believes a person can't have to many rod and reels would go back for it, having given the one who threw it there time to go back themselves. You can then post it on other sites and the owner might be thankful you saved it for them. I did this for a very expensive camera I found left at a lake and the owner was found and the camera was returned .

When I find stuff like that I just leave them there, maybe the owner will come back for it.

There was a large, illegal hook on the end of the line in a fishing šŸŽ£ area closed to striped bass fishing. A poacher probably threw the rod on the ground when law enforcement was nearby. I put the rod in the tree.

Sounds bout right. If you end up taking the pole, cut the hook off first before walking through that area with an illegal rod and reel. That way you might not get in trouble bein in a no fishin area with a rod and reel set up to take fish if the Game Warden happened to see ya.

Donā€™t know about saving it for the person who lost it. Brother and I in a musky tournament in Green Bay, windy rough water picked up a planer board and it had a rig attached, rod, reel, lure attached. Took it to the weigh in and the dude who lost it said ā€œ Hey, thatā€™s mineā€. Didnā€™t even buy us a beer
