Hello stagers,
As promised here is a follow-up to a boy named Charley.
Many of you are familiar with the term giving someone a swirley. It's pretty graphic and gross. If you're not familiar with the term ask someone...
After I became a Christian I became a commander in a religious type of Boy Scouts called the Royal Rangers.
I thought my two children at a early age how to pitch a tent, start a campfire and how to survive in the wilderness.
One day we decided to take a group of friends camping. I asked my children to help me unload the gear from the van, but they were to busy playing and refused.
So I did it myself and copped a attitude.
I asked them to help me pitch the tents and again they refused.
So I did it myself and copped a bigger attitude.
I pitched 4 large under a shelter.
I them asked their help getting the fire going.
You can guess what happened. Yes my attitude grew. I fixed everything a marvelous super. After cleaning up the dishes I went over to get my meal only to find that every morsel had been eaten. Now I was fuming. I grabbed my fishing gear and went about 40 yards to the fishing pond a cast out my baited line.
Then I thought to myself " I'm in charge here I'll never need anyone's help ever again.
Then as if someone turned off the lights the sunny sky went pitch black and the rain was so heavy that I was soaked as I ran for the shelter.
Then come the swirley.
Yes a tornado format 100 yards from our campsite.
I doused the fire and got everyone into one tent. The sound was deafening.
The swirley lifted 50 yards from our campsite, went over it and touched down again 50 yards from our site traveled about 100 yards on the ground and then disappeared. The sun came out again.
Camping gear was scattered everywhere, but my main concern was the get everyone home to safety.
With that done I returned to the campsite and began cleaning up.
I kid you not stagers. I heard the actual voice of God say " Don't ever tell me your incharge " I managed to find everything except for one sock 🧦
I never forget what God told me that day and He has been in charge of my life ever since.
Commander Bell out.

Hello stagers, br As promised here is a follow-up ... (show quote)

Ya’ know, Charley;
I believe sometimes God has to give us a “Gibbs slap” upside the head, just to get our attention! Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger.

”And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As a child of God, we all require a “spanking” now and then. Keeps us in line… 🥴🙏🏻

Well in the scrub desert of Arizona, we would get Dust Devils. Same thing, but not as strong.
They would say that in the middle of those you could hear the devil beating his wife.
They would lift the dust and sand up hundreds of feet in the air or higher.
Saw lots of Water Spouts when in the Navy also.
