Well, I figured out what had done when he pulled out after the Texas polls closed in El Paso.
If I remember correctly he started running and the Republican party told him that if he didn't pull out, they would mess up his daughter's wedding. He pulled out until his daughter's wedding was over and then started running.
He paid out like 3%% of his net worth to keep Bush from being re-elected. That's how Clinton got elected.
