Can you say E******N YEAR??? I live here and he’s ignored every issue but now that e******ns are coming he’s in panic mode. Same Gov. who has put his head in the sand on homeless, taxes, $68 billion deficit and has the $940 you can steal at retailers without repercussions. I’m born and raised here and it’s now the Golden Stain not Golden State. Record #’s leaving, both businesses and residents who are fed up with deteriorating highways, gas and property taxes, vehicle registration (17 Ram 1500 $490 per year), trash everywhere. Once I retire I’m out of here!

Why do you say Gavin is in panic mode, he's not up for ree******n this year?
Why are you waiting to retire before you leave the state?
I'm born and raised in CA as well and I moved back here when I retired. My property taxes are lower on my house that I own in CA, they were about 1.8x higher for the house I had in NM than here. Also, look into healthcare wherever you want to retire. It's much better in CA than where I was in NM. Good luck.

He’s setting up for the national spotlight, give me a break lol I’ve a house in TN I utilize in comparison. My job is here and extremely specialized hence my not in TN currently. Your house’s tax is based on time of purchase which explains being lower. Let’s also compare cost of living offsetting the “discount healthcare”. Pleased to see you drank the Koolaid too. We can’t build a reservoir yet we can pay for i******s housing, medical, food, clothing, waste 500k PER UNIT on a 100+ housing off of K Steet downtown Sac… SACRAMENTO - A Downtown Sacramento affordable housing project is planned to t***sform a historic building on K Street, at an eye-popping price.

The project will cost $50 million for fewer than 100 rooms. For comparison, the remodel costs are set to run more than triple the highest-priced home sold in Sacramento last month.

The 100-year-old Sequoia Hotel is the problem property getting an expensive t***sformation.
(I could BUILD them houses for $200k)…..a Sacramento Bee article mentions “people here wish they could pay more in taxes” are you kidding me????????

I haven't drank Koolaid since I was a kid, and that was many years ago. I do't understand your comment of "discount healthcare". My comment on healthcare was about ensuring quality healthcare is available where you want to retire. You may not require much healthcare now but it's likely you will after retirement.

I hear you on on the proposed costs to house the unhoused, but is the cost any lower in TN when the state government builds facilities, I have no data to compare with. I just can't imagine one state can build facilities for a much lower cost other than the difference in labor and the initial property costs.
I've not heard of people wishing to pay more in taxes, but we both know there are all kinds in CA

Well I for one sure hope Tn has more sense than wasting money trying to build housing for the homeless if they wanted a place to live they would have one it’s their choice they prefer the bum lifestyle and dope over housing if you built them all a place and gave them any rules at all about having to take care of it or get a job you’re going to have a big expensive empty building with tents in front of it and scumbags s**ttin on your new concrete sidewalks

I think the real reason behind this type of robberies is all the homeless people I read about out there, and No one is doing anything about it, other than trying to sweep it to the edges of towns so those in power don't have to look at it.
Sounds like the state is living up to the truckers long time nickname for the state. The land of fruits and nuts.

It's not the homeless, it's lazy people that would rather commit robberies than work for a living. We need to change a law that was v**ed in several years back making low value
( <$940) property crimes a slap on the wrist IF you get caught. I don't think any of them worry about getting caught after being successful on their first few robberies. Then they steal more valuable items.
They steal cars here and take them to a sideshow for their entertainment. Others strip the cars for parts to sell. Tools are taken from pickup trucks in driveways and then sold at swapmeets, etc. Got to go back to locking them up and throwing away the key.
