We all enjoy “talking” to each other here on the Stage, but it’s not quite the same as talking to someone face to face. Earlier this week my wife and I took the train to Grand Junction, CO to visit our son and his family for that very reason.
Well yesterday I was blessed with the opportunity to have lunch with a man who goes by the handle Shortordercook62, or to those who visit with him often he is also known as Randy. It was so good to be able to put a face with the name, and to meet his wife of nearly 60 years. Thank you Randy for taking the time for me and my wife to hear the stories of your life.

Thanks Bob but that's the other way around. I'm part of the couple (Mr and Mrs Joel) and Randy is with me in the last picture. I didn't get a picture of Mrs Randy, who is a very sweet lady.

Thanks for sharing your trip Joel, the pictures are beautiful. Glad you and your wife had a good visit with your family, and got to meet another Stager as a bonus. Hi Randy!

I have thought about putting a picture of us on our profile but most of the pictures I see are with huge fish and we don't have any like that, especially with both of us in the picture. I will work on that.
A meet-n-greet here in the Midwest would be of interest to us but a person would need time to schedule it in-between other fishing trips. The east or west coast are out of the question for us.

Just before Covid hit the country plans were being made for The Lawrence Kansas area. I for one was thinking of making the trip a 2nd honey moon for the Juice and I.

Well as you can guess, Covid ruin a lot of plans and lives for many. However, when Covid winds down it would be nice to see if plans for a future Midwest M & G could be made again.

On that note it seems the last 2 years that Covid variants hits pretty hard around holidays.

Might be a thought to start seeing if folks would be interested in late 2024 summer or 2025 M & G out that way.

Our lunch and visit at a local diner was very enjoyable. Thanks to Joel for taking the time out of his family visit for Jesn and I. We enjoyed the visit and the chance also to meet Karen and their son. The special guest was their 4 y.o. granddaughter who enjoyed her huge blueberry pancake but was even more interested in the large coloring mat they provided. Thanks for all your nice comments. A very neat time time getting to meet fellow Stagers. And thanks again for all.your prayers, comments and advice concerning our son David's loss of vision. You are all very much appreciated.

Randy, Short Order Cook

That would be great, and there are some good places to fish within driving distance, keeping in mind that driving distance here is anything 3 hrs or less. Glenn Elder is one such lake and I'm sure Randy in Lawrence will know others.
And you could count us in for late summer of '24 or sometime in '25. We're looking forward to getting together with Brad at Pomme de Terre in July this year.
