Is anyone else having difficulty when trying to service your spinning reel due to working with so very very small screws. If a screw falls out of your grip and falls on The floor, good luck with finding it. So very frastratng! I wish manufactures would use larger screws, would be easier to work with.

I feel the pain. I work on a light colored towel. No bouncing screws and pretty easy to find.

I always work on small stuff over a tray cause if it hits the floor by the time I find I forgot how to put it back together.

Good suggestion. What helped me a his afternoon was using a piece of material on the table and the screw falling into the material. It saved me a lot of time looking on The floor which I believe there Is a black hole somewhere in my kitchen!

Harbor Freight makes a magnetic tray that's perfect for working on your reel. If you drop a screw it sticks to the tray. They're cheap too.

On a couple occasions I've had parts disappear from my Daiwa reel while I was cleaning it. Even though it was out of warranty, they replaced the missing parts at no cost. Great customer service.

When I service my reels I keep a cheap extension magnet on hand. When a screw bounces off the towel onto the floor (it always does) I extend the magnet and move it in the area where I think it should be and it will pick up any metal screws and parts that insist on being on the floor. I also use these magnets on most things I do because it is difficult to bend over for long periods of time due to a disability.

Whether working on laptops, reels, or anything else where you need to remove small screws, .. IF any of the screws falls on the floor, lightly move a refridgerator magnet across the floor/carpet to retrieve them. Works great!
