Ok so next month my friend and I are going on a road trip from Edgewater Florida to Blue Ridge Georgia or somewhere in that area for some trout fishing. Anyone from that area with some tips on good places to fish and decent but cheap lodging would love to hear from you

I live close to the Ga. NC line . If you want to catch a lot of trout and not have to spend a lot of cash ,Go to the Cherokee Resivation ,,in Cherokee NC You dont need a licence just a permit from them 15.oo ,I think or for how many days you want. And lodging is some of the cheapest around ,and a lot of good camp grounds .Also rivers around there are part of the Southern Trout trail waters. And you can keep your fish.I have fished all over WNC and this is by far the best !!!! No hasseles ,great water ,and a lot to do when you arnt fishing .Look it up on line ,you can get set up for your trip on line .

Thanks dafjib. I appreciate the help I’ll definitely look it up. I was originally thinking Nebraska or Tennessee but I got to thinking Georgia is a lot closer and I could drive it in like 8 hours. Fact is I just miss fishing for trout gin rivers and streams. Need to get my fix!! I’m from New Hampshire but been in Florida for 25 years

Hi ,I grew up in Palm Beach county,in Delray Beach .I fished most of the boats and worked on some of them and always had one or two of my own .Then made the mistake of moving to NC ,I miss FL.. Ialways fresh water fished in the Glades and had a l ake house in Seabring . So I fish for anything ,but I like salt the best. What is Edgewater close to? I dont know when I will be comming down ,this winter I hope .And will sure look you up.Did you find out about the info. I gave you. Let me know when you get up here and I will get up with you to turn you on to the fishing spots. I have a 15.6ft Gheenoe with a air cooled motor and a new trolling motor you can use if you want to do any lakes .We have two of the cleanest lakes in the U.S. right around here. Dont buy a bunch of tackle till you get up here ,for trout you need very little ,I use the lightest line I can get away with 2-6 lb. and spinners, roster tails ,worms or gulp floting trout bait or corn.

Yes I’m very familiar with the gear for trout fishing.pretty much the same as New Hampshire.rooster tails and panther martins are my favorites.definitely will be bringing my fly rod as well.thank you for the offer of the gheenoe that is super generous of you.Im only going to be there for two days though and I really miss wading in a river and just enjoying the nature around me. You know what I mean? It’s my quiet time no work stress, no phones, none of the bulll shit of the real world LOL!!! I look foreword to meeting you. And ya I looked up the info you provided me Cherokee seems tone the way to go. It’s about a 9 hour drive and hotel rooms are pretty cheap I can’t wait!
