I love to fish. Moved here from Indiana. I can catch fish like crazy there. Here seem to just feed them. Fish mostly St Andrew's bay area. Will figure it out sooner or later. Sooner if I can get him to actually go fishing. Come on its not like I am asking him to go to the mall! Lol. Where are the best spots and bait to use in the bay this time of year. I also saw a utube where this guy had some kind of bait string? He wrapped it around the bait to keep it on the hook. Anybody know where I can find it? Have checked out a few places but no luck yet. Have no clue what it's called.

Welcome to the Stage Booboos. I can't help you with the fishing down there, but the string is called Magic Thread, and Miracle Thread. They're both made by Atlas Mike. You can get it online, or probably any tackle shop down there. Good Luck and Tight Lines. Remember, we love pictures.

And if you you can't find the string at a bait shop, try a craft store.

You can also try Fish Bites. You can find them at WalMart or any place that sells fishing supplies. It’s a strip flavored in shrimp, crab and other things. It’s a woven cloth flavored in your desired flavor. It’s hard for fish to remove. You pretty much have to cut it off of your hook.
I like it because I don’t have to keep putting live shrimp on. I catch just as many fish as my buddies using live shrimp at no where near the cost or aggravation.

The thread is elastic thread. You can get it at any large fabric store. Used to hold liver on a single hook.

Since it's getting warmer use a pompano rig with fish bites in shrimp or sand fleas and make sure the weight is about 3 feet below the bottom bait. Will help it keep off the bottom higher and away from the catfish and whiting's better.
Good luck and welcome

There’s always something to catch down there in saltwater. But the bass are large and plentiful too.

Thank you so much. I have seen the fishbites at Walmart but never tried it. Will pick some up tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for all the tips.
