I really enjoy trout fishing in Northern California lakes in the Bay Area & East Bay. Please let me know what months are the best & what type of bait you would prefer. Thank you

Really anytime of the year. Some lakes and rivers are closed to trout fishing from October to April. The lower Owens River is open year round. And, if I could only have 1 lure for the rest of my life for catching trout... Panther Martin in line spinners size #1 & #2 no question! I’ve caught more trout on these spinners than any other trout lure on the market. Day in and day out they just produce!!!🎣

Hi Ali
I do a lot of trout fishing but I fly fish. Now in the fall is a great time to fish. Trout like cold water. I know a lot of people use spinners / worms. I usually go to a fly shop or fishing store in the local area and they will most often tell me what bait and where they are biting. Use the locals can really help.

Very true.... but, I’ve fished from the California Sierras to Washington State and have nothing but success with Panther Martin spinners! Just saying, they work everywhere! I’ve used a plethora of different flies & trout lures... Panthers have always come out on top🎣

I usually go to Los Vaqueros or Shadow Cliffs. I’m interested in meeting new people to go fishing with.

I grew up in Brentwood and I used to fish Los Vaqueros all the time to bad I moved to Oregon it would have been nice to meet you. Power bait is still one of the best baits around in both Las Vaqueros and Contra Lome and if you will be going after the Delta Strippers a 8/0 hook and 2 foot long leader and sliding sinker
4 oz is the way to go. I am not sure if they ever planter Strippers in Vaqueros but if they are there that 8/0 hook will work just as good Los Vaqueros as it does in the Delta as Strippers the big and small are not hook shy. The best place for stripper info on the Delta would at the Hook Line and Sinker bait shop in Oakley at big break marina just ask for some pointers from a guy named Bobby Barrack he is a Delta Legend and a Team Lamaglas Pro along a TV fishing host.

The last time I went to Brentwood it looked as if it was turning into a little Black Hawk type of rich money type of town. Went I grow up in Brentwood there where only like 700 students at Liberty High and there was no Freedom High School and when it comes to the cars and traffic in that town we used to see kids ridding there horses on the side of the road and the Town of Antioch was a good Town to live in and the end of the line for the BART Train was in downtown Concord by Clayton Road.
